This Post is about how we were brought up. This is about our Values, our Morals and our Ethics.
Our Good Name.
It was impressed upon me in my youth that Your Name and Your Word are truly the only things you will ever own in your life. Guard them well.
Be Honest, be True, be Loyal in your life so that you have no regrets as to how you have ever treated another person.
I have some regrets about decisions I have made in the direction of my life, but I am so very proud to say that I have followed those wise words from my Father – I have treated other people the best that I have been able.
My Father, Eldon, lived that life. He did not reap any financial or life ease benefits from it – in fact, in my opinion, his last years did not reward the life he led nor the strength and purpose that he gave his children.
Life can be unfair and unjust.
I hold out hope that there is Karma – a tit-for-tat so to speak. Obviously, we do not give to receive. That said, if you live your life well, you do receive the true reward – calm in your mind and spirit, a pride in who you are and how you have dealt with people and the friends that you have gathered.
We all meet people who do not subscribe to this.
We all meet people who live lives that are immoral and are unethical ~ and they prosper.
How the heck does that happen?
The reality is that it is not about those undeserving people that you meet having good luck in their lives.
It is not about those undeserving people somehow having an epiphany – understanding their lack and changing their ways.
It is not about having the wrongs done to you corrected.
That would be a Bonus ~ but don’t count on it.
Decide to Live Your Life for You.
Release the unjust. I know it is challenging – it can take years but life is better when you do. Do not let those undeserving people live in your head rent free!
Trust in what the people you love think of who you are ~ it is important as you need that to help guide your path, and they know you best.
If you are lucky (as I am), they are out for your best interest and give you a perspective that you do not have. If they are Great Friends, they will call you out when you waver…
We all need to have Stars to guide us. I believe that the friends I have are those Stars. They are the rewards for the life that I have led and I deserve them.
Who do you deserve?
