It’s Time for Something Positive!
Actually, a Lot of Positive.
This is what this Solution Post is about.
Yes, Yes, I know – we are Mired in Crisis. We are inundated with news and restrictions and, at times, Fear. If not for us, for our friends, family and others.
Well, That is Not About That!
~~~
And, it is time for me to post something different. We have been, Responsibly, pulled away from Fun and Great Times!
It does not have to be that way.
Trust me!
We just have to be imaginative and adjust.
Here are just a few ideas:
Plan a picnic – living room, balcony, or in a lovely, open space outside – invite a reasonable number of people – follow the guidelines.
Walk with friends or family or spouse, or by yourself. Explore your home town! My friend, Rockaye, and I go for a weekly 2+hour walk and take different routes. Be adventurous! Reward yourself (now that we can) with a lunch and some tapas.
Take a breather when you do – nature walks and anywhere near the Forest and/or the Sea feed your Soul.
Take the time to connect with people on Zoom or FaceTime that you haven’t been able to spend time with for a long time. Before this time, it seemed that unless you had time to physically get together, you weren’t giving the effort. Now parameters have changed. Totally acceptable. Encouraged. And … AWESOME! I have connected this way with some friends that have been just periodic phone calls for years but are now ‘play dates!’
Take an online course – Ok, don’t balk! I know that this suggestion falls flat with so many ~ I am not talking about calculus. What are you interested in? Many, Many Universities around the world are offering courses for free. Obviously you do not get course credit but you do get the same information as any other student. Personally, over the past years, I have taken courses on Anthropology, Ocean Sciences, Spanish, etc. Just ones of interest. Your own pace, no cost = muy bueno. Go nuts.
Also, being by yourself is not a bad thing … introspective and healing. Take some time to think.
These lemons are not so sour.
Nice piece, Linda! Love the picnic idea & the walking around town. I’m working right now for the Census so not a lot of free time, but when it’s all over at the end of September I’m going to try both of these
thank you – just some ideas … I’m not really totally sad about having to find ways to spend time outside!
