These are my hands.
They are very different and there is a reason.
As noted in an earlier post, I had cancer. In the process, there were some lymph nodes removed – left side.
End result is that through my 9 operations and all chemo, blood work, etc., nothing could be done on that side – all had to be done on my right hand. As you can see, the veins in that hand basically said FU and hid. I would too.
What’s interesting about the difference to me is that I see my left hand as one that represents my age and life. My right hand reminds me that sometimes we have challenges and that life is precious.
Both have survived. One has just gone through more hardship. This is a visualization of what we all go through.
There are parts of us that look to the outside world that all is well.
There are parts of us that show what we have been through ~ most of us hide that.
This, everyday to me, is a reminder that as strong as believe I am, I know that we all have some weaknesses, and it is OK ~ we can persevere. It is part of who we are and both parts are components of what make us Whole.
I certainly don’t like my ‘old looking’ hand, but I really appreciate that I have it. It reminds me of what I have been through and reiterates every day how thankful I am to still be here and the strength it took to get through it ~ it is inspirational.
We all have a ‘right hand’ and a ‘left hand.’ We don’t always have ones that are so very evident.
That’s Ok.
Embrace both sides. It’s all good.
They are both important for us to have. Whatever yours look like.
Life Tip here is to Give Yourself That Time.
Sometimes it is out of your control as to how it heals. Sometimes you can decide.
Note that is about 6 years out for me and it is still an evolution.
Sometimes it takes a lot of time to heal. Life is Long and Wonderful.
